Vietnam to Crack Down on Illegal Immigrants

The HCM City chairman recently directed the city’s police to better detect and fine illegal immigrants. Immigration police explains Vietnamese Law to two foreigners whose visa expired.

In the instructions to the police, the chairman said that they should enhance management of foreigners who illegally enter the country and reside in the city without registering with the police.

The police were also asked to charge foreigners who violate Vietnamese law, especially those who live and do business in parks, walk sides and other public places.

According to the instructions residents and organizations who help illegal foreigners, for example allowing them to stay in hotels without registering, stand bail for them or break the law while helping them declare immigration documents will also be punished.
