K1 Visa for Fiance

A K-1 Fiance visa is a non-immigrant visa issued to prospective husbands or wives to the U.S. with the intention of marrying them within the statutory time period of 90 days from entry. A non-immigrant is a foreign national seeking to temporarily enter the United States for a specific purpose. A fiancé(e) may not obtain an extension of the 90-day original non-immigrant admission.

Immigration Services Spokesman Weighing Reforms to the H-1B Application Process

CWmike writes "A Citizenship and Immigration Services spokesman said today that the agency is weighing a series of reforms to the H-1B application process, including the use of 'independent open-source data' to obtain information about visa seekers or the companies that file the petitions on their behalf. The move follows a report by the agency that found widespread problems and evidence of fraud in the nation's H-1B program, including forged documents, fake degrees and shell companies being used in H-1B applications. It also comes after the controversy caused by changes to the H-1B rules earlier this year."

What is Required For a US Tourist Visa

US: Green card applicants must get HPV vaccine

The AP reported this latest immigration law that may affect young, female immigrants applying for their green card. In short, female aliens applying for lawful permanent residence must now get shot to prevent cervical cancer, a vaccination that is not required by US Citizen females in the same age group.

Revised US New Naturalization Test

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) recently changed and revised the Naturalization Test in an effort to create a more standardized, fair, and meaningful naturalization process. Apparently, being in line with the Bush Administration to bring an emphasis on rights and responsibilities of citizenship and somehow, this will encourage citizenship applicants to learn and identify with the basic values all Americans share.

US Announces Changes to International Adoption in VN

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced that the USCIS office in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam will have sole jurisdiction over all Form I-600s, Petition to Classify Orphan as an Immediate Relative, filed on behalf of a Vietnamese child on or after October 29, 2007.
